What’s In My Bag - Audition Edition
For my readers who don’t know, along with my love for beauty, I’m also an actress. I have my Associates in Theatre and I’ve been on stage since before I could walk. I take what I put in my audition bag seriously because I’m always super nervous before an audition. Who isn’t, right? Hopefully I can share some tips and tricks for those who are in the same boat!
My Audition Bag Essentials:
Giant/durable tote bag - I use my Longchamp Le Pliage tote in the largest size. It fits all of my essentials with plenty of room to spare. It’s seriously amazing and affordable for what it is.
My regular handbag essentials - Wallet and keys. Can’t leave without those!
Music binder - I have my songs I’m singing up at the front and then all the extra in the back. I use just a standard black binder that you can get from literally anywhere!
Dance shoes - Depending on the type of show and if there is a dance number taught, always have to have my dance shoes just in case. I never want to be the person who shows up in heels and have to learn the dance number barefoot because you forgot your shoes. Because I have been!
Giant water bottle - Always essential to stay hydrated.
Monq diffusers - I always have to have some sort of aromatherapy with me for a high stress situation. My Monq diffusers don’t alter my singing voice and are the perfect relief and an instant pick me up when you are about to go into an audition. I like to carry “Happy” and “Zen” on me.
Makeup bag - When you’re nervous and drinking tons of water, I always find that I need to reapply my lip product and touch up my face a bit. I always tend to wear a tinted lip balm. My favorite in Benebalm by Benefit. And I always have to have my Blotterazzi by BeautyBlender to touch up my face at all. Also, gotta have a cute makeup bag to put everything into.
Some sort of snack - I find that when I’m nervous, I’m twice as hungry. I like to carry a snack with me that won’t affect my singing voice like a protein bar or some trail mix.
Notebook and pen - You are not always guaranteed a pen and paper when you go somewhere!
