I turned 23 back in September. Now that I’ve passed 21, birthdays aren’t as fun anymore. But with each each year, you learn and grow in so many ways. These are my 23 things I have learned by age 23.

Don’t take life too seriously.
Animals are better than people.
Student loans are a trap.
Don’t get married too young.
Don’t be afraid of failure.
Planning ahead of time is the best way to go about time management.
It’s okay to stay in bed and watch Netflix all day.
Love yourself before you love another.
Always remember the golden rule.
Find a hobby and stick to it.
Always pursue your dreams no matter how many times you get knocked down.
Education is ALWAYS a good idea.
Start a savings account early.
Avoid credit card debt like the plague.
Invest in fashion pieces that can last you a lifetime.
Also invest in quality people.
A messy bun and sweatpants are just as beautiful as heels and a dress.
Day dreaming is always a good idea.
Invest in bettering yourself and never stop.
Find routines and try your best and stick with them.
Never turn your back on love.
Be selfless and always take your time to help your friends and family.
Take things as they come.
